ServiceAgent introduction

ServiceAgent is a WindowsNT/2000 service wrapper for Win32 applications , however , it also integrates service scheduling , service remote control , and application jobs management to make it a complete solution for service/application scheduling and management.

 

ServiceAgent is free to personal and home users , however if you are developer/enterprise users who want to re-distribute customized ServiceAgent with your own applications , you have to register .

ServiceAgent features

(1) Making any application a WindowsNT service.
(2) Remote control of your services or applications via a Telnet client.
(3) Schedule all your applications/services , you can ask them to start , stop , restart , or even restart/shutdown Windows by a built-in scheduling engine or remote control interface
(4) Works under Windows2000/NT , also supports Windows98/ME (without NT service features)

If you are a programmer,

You don't need to write service application by yourself , Simply use ServiceAgent to wrap it ! This could save a lot of your time. You can concentrate on developing your windows applications , and let ServiceAgent to wrap it as a service for you . If you want to bundle ServiceAgent with your product(just like RaidenFTPD), please register it , and it's royalty-free after you register it. If you registration is single software or unlimited software, you must mail me about info of the specific service installer you want. (read readme.doc)

What's the difference between ServiceAgent and other service wrappers ?

i.) You can telnet to the ServiceAgent by a telnet client. In the terminal mode, you can view the status of running applications & services (jobs) that were included into ServiceAgent. You can also send commands to start/stop your jobs remotely.
ii.) You can restart windows/log off/power off your server remotely.
